Why We Rewrote the Euranova Manifesto
A company culture is frequently packaged as static branding: abstract values printed on a poster, repeated during onboarding, and forgotten during system outages.
For an engineering organization, that model fails. Culture is not an immutable declaration; it is an operating manual. When a manual goes untouched for years, documentation rots and reality diverges from practice.
We recently published an updated version of the Euranova Manifesto. It is now live and downloadable directly from our Career page.
Taking Stock of How We Build
Rewriting our manifesto was not a branding exercise. The process took several months of internal discussion, debate, and iteration.
Since our founding in 2008, our operational reality has transformed. AI models now generate syntax alongside engineers, architectures are distributed across edge and cloud, and client engagements demand direct integration between applied research and production delivery. We needed to pause, take stock, and articulate what our standards actually look like in production today:
- How our definition of craft has moved from typing syntax to orchestrating durable systems under operational load.
- How our internal prototyping lab systematically de-risks emerging technologies before they reach client environments.
- Why client autonomy and compound team knowledge consistently outperform commoditized headcount.
Confronting the Distributed Reality
Beyond shifts in technology, there was a deeper organizational realization.
Our original manifesto portrayed a company moving as a single, centralized block, with rituals and examples anchored primarily at headquarters. The operational reality of engineering consultancy is fundamentally different: presence at headquarters is the exception, not the norm. The vast majority of our consultants solve complex challenges embedded directly on client premises.
While the post-2020 shift toward hybrid working has brought more colleagues through our offices, our delivery remains inherently distributed. The early headquarters rituals were foundational, but they did not fully reflect how an on-site, decentralized engineering team operates day-to-day.
This revised manifesto bridges that gap. It preserves our founding beliefs, attitudes, and values while redesigning our operating manual for a distributed network—ensuring that knowledge sharing, mutual accountability, and engineering rigor function seamlessly across client sites, regional offices, and remote environments.
A Living Baseline, Bound to Evolve
We deliberately avoid reciting the contents of the manifesto here. The full document is open for anyone to download and read—from the technical principles that guide our architecture choices to the real production stories that demonstrate how our teams operate under pressure.
More importantly, this document is not carved in stone. An operating manual only remains valuable if it can be challenged, stress-tested, and updated. The months of debate required to craft this update proved that our culture is an active, evolving system, not a frozen artifact. As our engineering practices mature and technological realities change, this manifesto is bound to live and evolve alongside them.
Whether you are an engineering director evaluating how our teams navigate complex legacy environments, or an engineer deciding if our standards match your own, the document is open for inspection.
